     Picture It

In my opinion I think the movie is much better than the book. I think the movie is better than the book because of three main reasons. My first reason I think the movie is better than the book because you can see how the chief elder was part of the reasons why you couldn’t see color and couldn’t leave the community. My second reason is that the movie makes a little more sense on what it means to pass the memories. My third reason why I think the movie is better is because in the movie they have Jonas the narrator and in the book Jonas isn’t the narrator.
My first reason why I think the movie is better than the book is because you can see how the chief elder was part of why you can’t see colors and that you couldn’t leave the community. In the book she wasn’t really in it only when she was giving the twelves' their jobs, but in the movie she was in it a lot. Like when Jonas was teaching Lily how to dance the chief elder appeared. I think that she is one of those big characters that should have been in the book more. She was one that wasn’t letting people in the community see colors or live love just because she thinks it’s going to start a big conflict.
My second reason why I think the movie is better than the book is because when they pass the memories in the book it was a little confusing because you didn’t really know if they like traveled to the memories or if they were just dreaming or something. It was hard to follow the story. In the movie it was less confusing because you can see how the giver was passing the memories and how Jonas was in the memory. You can see what the book was talking about in the movie because you can see it. It was little more clear in the movie than the book.
My third reason why I think the movie is better than the book is because Jonas was the narrator in the movie and in the book he wasn’t the narrator. It was better that Jonas was the narrator because you can see his point of view. You can also see what his feeling were because we knew what he was thinking at the time. I think the book should have had Jonas as the narrator because you can see his point of view. In the book we really didn’t know what he was thinking because it was written in third person.
In conclusion, I think the movie is better than the book because of my first reason which is, the chief elder was a big part of the movie because she wasn’t letting the community see colors because it can start conflict. My second reason is because it made more sense in the movie on what it means to pass the memories. My last reason is because the narrator was Jonas and you can see his point of view and in the book you couldn’t see his point of view because it is written in third person. So I think the movie is better than the book because of those three reasons.

The Giver

Amazing brains

There was a lot of people that can hold a lot of memories and can memorize a lot of things.
I would be so grateful if I can have that talent because many people can't do that and it would be pretty cool if I could.
Would you like to experience that at least one time?

The Giver

Alone

The man was all alone in the city, but then a cop showed up and was asking him questions.
I would be really afraid to be the only one in the whole city and then out of no where a cop shows up.
How would you feel to be a lone in the whole city?

The Giver

    Snow

Jonas is finally experienced in real life how it feels to be in snow and riding a sled with Gabriel.
I would be really excited to ride on a sled because like it's a first time experience.
Would you like to have the experience for the first time?

The Giver

Starving

For the first time Jonas and Gabriel are starving because they both escaped the community and they don't have enough food.
I would hate to feel starving for the first time because you don't really know what you are expecting.
Would you hate to feel starving for the first time?

The Giver

Escaping

Jonas is going to escape from the community but the giver wasn't coming with him because he had to stay with his daughter.
If I was in Jonas place I would understand the giver because he has his family unit to take care of.
    Would you understand the giver?

The Giver

What It Really Means

Jonas finally saw what it means to be released and he couldn't believe what he saw.
I would be so scared if I knew what it meant to be released.
Would you be scared if you saw what it meant to be released?
